Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company databases. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Responsible for system up-time and disaster recovery planning as it relates to database systems.
Description:
- Provides daily management of Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure and assures service availability.
- Provides performance tuning, backup and restoration of databases
- Maintains policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintains SQL reporting services
- Documents all database maintenance procedures
- Keeps SQL Servers up to date with necessary patches
- Will provide some of the general function of Change Control Management.
- Works with business users, developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure quality
Experience:
- 2-4 years experience as a database administrator
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005 is required
- Strong knowledge of Relational Databases and T-SQL Scripting is required
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Clustering and Replication is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Position requires someone who is self motivated, has a strong sense of urgency, and a high levels of energy
Education:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field ;or the equivalent of relevant DBA experience is required.
- MS SQL Server 2005 DBA certified is a plus. (MCDBA)
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- Travel between Republic Banking facilities is required
- Must be flexible to work overtime as necessary to ensure service availability
- Occasional out of town travel is required
- Flexible work schedule that will include some evening and weekend work
