Job Title: New Business Processor
Reports To: Support Supervisor
Department: Underwriting
Section: Underwriting Administration
Job Status: Non Exempt

JOB SUMMARY
Support the underwriting function by scanning new business applications. Obtain additional information from agencies in order to process the applications. Keyfast applications within an allotted time-frame. Audit issued applications for quality. Provide assistance to the underwriters and the Underwriting Services Section of the Underwriting Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Scan new business applications for completeness as set by the Support Supervisor.
• Contact Agency Force and their staff when additional information is needed to process applications.
• Keyfast applications according to procedures.
• Scan and process 95% of applications within 5 days of receipt.
• Keep work current.
• Work as a “team” with underwriting managers, underwriters, Underwriting Services Section, state office personnel and the Agency Force and their staff.
• Record and monitor weekly production.
• Return telephone calls promptly and with courtesy.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Comply with company guidelines as defined in the Underwriting Manuals.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Audit issued policies.
• This list of Essential Functions may be supplemented as needed.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
• High school education or GED
• Basic typing skills to operate PC
• Ability to communicate in a grammatically correct and concise manner, both orally and written
• Ability to make decisions
• Ability to organize and prioritize work
• Ability to deal with others in a diplomatic and professional manner
• Ability to accept constructive criticism
