Position Summary: The Department of Psychology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin Fall, 2009. Teaching load includes undergraduate and graduate courses. I A Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA and regionally accredited program strongly preferred; ABD is the minimum requirement. Eligibility for licensure in Kentucky is required. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching and advising and to developing an active program of scholarship that encourages student involvement. The psychology department (www.psychology.eku.edu) has 21 full-time faculty members, approximately 450 undergraduate majors and 75 graduate students, and offers four graduate programs: the MS in clinical (MPAC accredited), I/O, and general psychology, and the Psy.S. in school psychology (NASP accredited). The Psychology Clinic offers a variety of clinical and research opportunities with adults, children, and families, including work with individuals who are deaf and those with autism/ developmental disabilities, and the department has a history of collaborative research with other academic departments. EKU serves 16,000 students and is located in the central Bluegrass area of Kentucky, about 25 minutes from Lexington. Minimum Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Eligibility for licensure in Kentucky is required.
Minimum Educational Qualifications: ABD is the minimum requirement. Must have at least 18 graduate hours in psychology.
Desired Qualifications Interest in teaching adult therapy and assessment courses, and supervision of clinical practica from a cognitive-behavioral perspective strongly preferred. A Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited program strongly preferred.
