Degree Audit Specialist
Eastern Kentucky University

Position Summary:
The EKU Degree Audit Specialist's primary responsibility is to ensure the integrity of the university's automated degree audit data and related aspects of the university's academic database through knowledge of the degree audit database and other software, as well as detailed knowledge of every degree program and all university academic policies. The University Degree Audit Specialist coordinates the recording of approved exceptions to university policies and/or procedures and provides summation data back to the university leadership and also provides the entire university community with excellent customer service while continuing to ensure the security, accuracy and integrity of student academic records.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:
Associates degree required.
Minimum Experience Qualifications: Five years work experience demonstrating progressive knowledge of database structure and function beyond simply data entry. Two years of experience working with an academic degree audit or registration database.
Professional experience working in a detailed functional data analysis capacity. One year work experience in an academic college or student support unit.

Qualification Equivalencies:
Education may substitute for experience, but experience cannot substitute for education.

Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of DARS/Red Lantern degree audit software desirable. Evidence of significant computer experience and a familiarity with database structure and function strongly preferred. Preference given to applicants with at least one year of experience working with an academic degree audit or registration database.

Position open until filled. Excellent computer skills mandatory, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
Requires a broad working knowledge of a specialized/technical function.
Requires the ability to gather, organize and analyze data in the completion of general functional procedures.
May require the operation, maintenance and the ability to analyze and correct malfunctions of sophisticated equipment.
