Duties and Responsibilities:
CACI has an immediate position for an Engineering Scientist to support the Navy Advanced Gun System (AGS) Project in Louisville, KY. The Engineering Scientist will be responsible for providing expert technical support to Navy Program Leadership to help meet Program Goals. The candidate's primary role will entail providing responsive support to Navy program leadership to help meet program goals. Candidate will interface with the Navy Program Manager, Navy engineers, Design Agents, and various contractors dispersed nationally. Candidate will actively attend program events, engineering design reviews, and other meetings required to support Navy client. Candidate must have a "can-do" attitude, be responsive to client needs, and help find solutions to client problems. Program management responsibilities include financial planning, budgeting, and reporting; Earned Value analysis and reporting; coordination of meeting/events; government contract support including contract reviews, negotiations, Award Fee evaluations; coordination and processing of contract deliverables; and procurement. Technical support includes participation in engineering design reviews and meeting; review of engineering data; and interface with technical team members.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a current DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance to qualify.
Requires bachelor's degree (in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent, and twelve to fifteen years of related experience.
Ideal candidate would be a former Navy Senior Systems Engineer with experience with Navy Gun and Gun Fire Control Weapon Systems. Must have a minimum of twelve years experience working with Naval Medium/Major Caliber Gun and Gun Fire Control Weapon Systems with specialized experience in one or more of the following engineering fields: design and technical analyses, acquisition and ship integration, program management, and life cycle logistical support. A minimum of four years experience supporting program managers with the development of financial plans, budgets and reports, contractor/Navy program technical reviews and Integrated Product Team (IPT) efforts is required.
Must have a minimum of ten years experience conducting preliminary and advanced design studies including the preparation and presentation of major portions of engineering proposals; capable of contributing to a systems philosophy and design objectives using systems engineering techniques; and able to analyze and resolve important failures in test and service, often without recourse to intense theoretical studies and test programs. Experience writing complex specifications and engineering reports as a result of advanced studies, special engineering investigations, and similar activities, including the development new theory aspects and design criteria for general application, is desirable.
