Purpose The Maturing and Maintenance Manager will be responsible for oversight of the warehousing, production/processing operations and maintenance. Coordinate with Plant Administrator to manage production areas/warehouse operations including, but not limited to, development of training tools, establishing production rates, monitoring performance and communicating with staff through use of graphs, charts, and trends, optimizing efficiencies and reducing labor costs. Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. Provide support to plant manager for achieving key performance indicators, annual operations and Capex planning, and support of other related plant goals. Direction of planning, organizing and controlling the staff to fill and dump barrels according to the manufacturing program.
Decision Making/Financial Responsibility Daily responsibility to optimize efficiencies, reduce product loss, minimize labor costs, and minimize risks in the areas of safety, quality and performance. Direction of a team consisting of 12 warehouse and 3 maintenance hourly employees. Oversee the complete warehouse operation of 20 warehouses and over $60 million in inventory. From this organize the entry and withdrawal operations to best use the limited space available for future growth. Complete operations and maintenance budget ( $3 to $4 MM annually)Coordinate with Plant Administrator to recommend improvements and develop/implement training tools in work efficiency with focus on safety, quality and performance improvement.
Management Responsibility Lead, develop, train and retain team of warehouse and maintenance personnel to facilitate production requirements. Provide technical maintenance and engineering support to both the Stitzel Weller and Milan sites. Research, initiate, and support implementation of Capital Projects usually ranging from $5,000 - $1,500,000Provide Project Management for safety, quality, performance improvement, and EHS projects, special plant projects, maintenance projects, and capital projects. Leadership and oversight of maintenance personnel. Reports to Plant Manager.
Complexity of Role Must have functional knowledge of maintenance, facilities, production equipment and how they interact in a production environment. Must have strong leadership capabilities to direct maintenance objectives. Must have good written and verbal communication skills to identify issues and effect resolutions. Must have strong time management and prioritizing skills. Must have ability to multi-task and adapt to change.
Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred plus minimum of 5 years in a management/maintenance/project engineering role in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 3 years managing maintenance tasks. Knowledge of electronic, PLC programming, OSHA regulations an asset. Ability to use Microsoft suite of products and AutoCad.
