Job Description:
Responsibilities
• Provide leadership in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives and the utilization of Action Work-Out (Kaizen) to eliminate waste in Appliance Park Operations with an emphasis in AP1 Home Laundry.
• Drive uptime and equipment reliability improvements through simplification activities.
• Convert one full assembly line to 100% Lean Operation within 12 months.
• Drive positive changes in Appliance Park to help achieve Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery targets.
• Drive consistency and timely implementation of all Lean activities (AWO, Shingijutsu led workshops, KPO creation, etc)
• Provide training and leadership to all salaried manufacturing / operations employees to drive Lean in their roles.
• Develop culture and the creation of a Kaizen promotion office to provide hands on experience for hourly team members.
• Develop future state lean model lines.
• Reduce cycle times of current process by 50%.
• Improve all Red ergo scores on model line areas to green.
• Develop a built in quality system for model line areas.
• Own specific labor productivity projects (VLOH) that utilize Lean, design, and process changes - minimum of $2MM of implemented projects executed annually.
• Manage positive Union Relations while driving change.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of the Toyota Production System.
• Experience with tools such as SMED, 5S's, POKA-YOKE, KAN BAN, CHAKU-CHAKU.
• PLC controls, mechanical engineering, tooling, and welding knowledge preferred.
• Demonstrated effective leadership, communication, training, team facilitation and analytical problem-solving skills.
