Materials Trainee - Gallagher - 104587
Duke Energy

Description:
Under indirect supervision, perform duties in Material Management Facilities including, but not limited to, shipping, receiving, storing, issuing and inventory of parts, materials and equipment. Record all transactions. Load, unload and transport parts, materials and equipment and perform other duties as assigned.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
· The duties of this classification are set forth in the job specification for Materials Specialist.
· Employees in this classification will be assigned to perform work and participate in training resulting in qualification for promotion to Materials Specialist at the end of two years.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Must possess valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications:
· Minimum of one year experience operating a lift truck.
· Must be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
· Must be able to comprehend, retain and follow oral and written instructions, including following safety signs and awareness of safety hazard signs.
· Must be able to exercise good judgment, set priorities, and make decisions.
· Must be able to communicate well with coworkers and others in a team atmosphere.

Working conditions:
· Outside and inside work sites, and therefore, exposure to all types of weather and temperature conditions, dust, dirt, and mud.

Minimum Starting Salary: $13.44/hour
