Summary of Responsibilities
UNDER MINIMUM SUPERVISION, INDEPENDENTLY SUPERVISES A SHIFT OPERATION IN ANY FOOD ACTIVITY/OPERATION. SUPERVISES CRAFT & TRADES NON-SUPERVISORY ASSOCIATES WHERE THE: PRIMARY/MAJORITY WORK LEVEL: FOREMAN LEVEL:(NON-SUPERVISORY)M-2 H-2 M-3 H-2 M-4 H-3 M-5 H-4
• SUPERVISES THE PREPARATION AND SALE OF FOOD ITEMS DURING ANASSIGNED SHIFT. RECEIVES, VERIFIES AND CHECKS QUANTITY OF FOOD/SUPPLY ITEMS. ESTIMATES FOOD/SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS AND ADVISES MANAGEMENT.
• INSURES PROMPT AND COURTEOUS SERVICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ESTABLISHED PROCEDURES.
• PREPARES, MAINTAINS AND PROCESSES ACCOUNTING & MANAGEMENT REPORTS.
• PARTICIPATES IN THE ESTABLISHMENT AND ACHIEVEMENT OF SERVICE AND SALES GOALS FOR THE FOOD OPERATION. INSURES OPTIMUM STOCK AVAILABILITY BY SUPERVISING/PARTICIPATING IN PERIODIC STOCK COUNTS AND INVENTORY(S), UPDATES MERCHANDISE CONTROL RECORDS; ADVISES MANAGEMENT OF SLOW-MOVING, OUT-OF-STOCK, DEFECTIVE AND DAMAGED MERCHANDISE; AND INFORMS MANAGEMENT OF CUSTOMER REQUESTS OR COMPLAINTS. SOLICITS IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS FROM SUBORDINATES ON WAYS TO IMPROVE SERVICE AND ACHIEVE GOALS.
• PERFORMS THE DUTIES OF SUBORDINATE ASSOCIATES AS REQUIRED BY WORKLOAD.
• OPENS AND/OR CLOSES THE FACILITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH PUBLISHED POLICIES/REGULATIONS. INSURES THE SECURITY OF CASH, FIXED ASSETS AND INVENTORY AND COMPLIES WITH FIRE, SAFETY, SANITATION AND SECURITY REGULATIONS. INITIATES WORK ORDERS FOR REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE.
• SUPERVISES ASSIGNED ASSOCIATES. ESTABLISHES WORK SCHEDULES, ASSIGNS/DISTRIBUTES WORK; COUNSELS; PREPARES PERFORMANCE REVIEWS,APPROVES/DISAPPROVES LEAVE REQUESTS; INSURES ASSOCIATE TRAINING, RECOMMENDS ACTIONS AND PERFORMS OTHER SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS.
• KEEPS ABREAST OF, ACTIVELY SUPPORTS, AND AS REQUIRED, IMPLEMENTS THE PROVISIONS OF PERTINENT PUBLIC LAWS, EXECUTIVE ORDERS, AND DIRECTIVES RELATING TO THE FEDERAL EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY (EEO) PROGRAM WITHIN THE ARMY AND AIR FORCE EXCHANGE SERVICE.
• PERFORMS OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
· PHYSICAL EFFORT:
ACTIVE, STANDING AND WALKING. OCCASIONAL LIGHT TO MODERATE LIFTING OR MOVING OBJECTS WEIGHING UP TO 40 POUNDS.
· SUPERVISORY CONTROL:
WORKS UNDER MINIMUM SUPERVISION, SUPERVISES ASSIGNED ASSOCIATES IN CARRYING OUT WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH PRESCRIBED POLICY/PROCEDURES. MUST USE JUDGMENT IN DEALING WITH SUPERVISORY AND OPERATIONAL PROBLEMS.
· WORKING CONDITIONS:
WORKS PRIMARILY INSIDE WHERE THE STEAM AND HEAT FROM COOKING AND DISHWASHING OFTEN CAUSE UNCOMFORTABLY HIGH TEMPERATURES. DANGER OF SLIPPING ON WET/SLIPPERY FLOORS.

Qualification Requirements
EDUCATION: HIGH SCHOOL OR EQUIVALENT. CREDITABLE JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR THE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT ON A 9 MONTHS FOR 9 MONTHS BASIS.

EXPERIENCE: H2 SIX MONTHS; H3 & H4 ONE YEAR IN A SUPERVISORY CAPACITY OR PER DOCUMENTED POTENTIAL TO EFFECTIVELY SUPERVISE. IN ADDITION FOR THE H4, 6 MONTHS FOOD OPERATIONS EXPERIENCE.
