Associate MFA Coordinator

Requisition Number 0604318 Position Summary: Associate Coordinator for the MFA Program: This position will involve a wide variety of duties. The successful candidate will help to plan and implement the MFA program's two annual writing residencies; will help to arrange travel, lodging, local transportation, and meals for the visiting writers who will appear during these residencies; and will help to coordinate all activities of the students attending these residencies. The successful candidate will also play an important role in promoting and publicizing the MFA program, as well as in recruiting new students for the program by writing press releases and copy for program advertisements, and by researching new media outlets and promotional strategies for reaching potential applicants. The successful candidate will also research the marketing campaigns, web presence, and academic curricula of other low-residency writing programs across the nation, helping to insure that EKU's program remains competitive in its ability to attract well-qualified applicants. Finally, the successful candidate will coordinate the startup of a new literary journal to be associated with the MFA program.
Minimum Educational Qualifications: The minimum qualifications for the position include at least a Bachelor's Degree. Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least one year of editorial experience with a national literary journal.
