Position Summary:
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor. Successful candidates are expected to conduct research with undergraduates. Candidates must show promise of quality teaching at all undergraduate levels, and be capable of teaching courses in general-education physics and astronomy, pre-engineering, and upper-level physics for majors to students with highly diverse backgrounds. Current departmental research interests are in experimental atomic physics, observational astronomy and physics education research.

Minimum Educational Qualifications: Candidates must hold a PhD in Physics or Astronomy, or a closely related field from a regionally (SACS, North Central, etc.)

Desired Qualifications Candidates in any area of Physics or Astronomy will be considered, but preference will be given to experimentalists, astronomers/astrophysicists or PER (Physics Education Research) specialists.
