Payroll / Commission Specialist

Job Title: Payroll/Commission Specialist Reports to: Payroll Supervisor Department: Accounting and Finance Job Status: Non-Exempt Job Titles Supervised Directly: None Approximate No. of Positions: 2
JOB SUMMARY Processes and inputs payroll and commission information ensuring that proper care and confidentiality of data is maintained.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Understand and develop proficient use of Commission and Payroll Systems and their applications. Verify and balance agent and employee deductions.
2. Assist with all correspondence as requested by Payroll Supervisor.
3. File all correspondence and record changes for employees. Enter and balance employee expense reports for reimbursement.
4. Dispense funds withheld on 401K, IRA, and Savings Bonds.
5. Prepare batch header for Payroll or Commission totals for interface to general ledger.
6. Prepare Agent IAO and Termination Spreadsheets and balance monthly Commission reports. Balance time reports with Bi-weekly Payroll Register.
7. Reconcile Flexible Spending Account Bank statement, prepare billings to Southern Farm Bureau and Federation, update sick and vacation leave, verify wage & tax information, verify personnel changes, prepare general ledger entries.
8. Regular, predictable attendance.
9. Provide backup for other Payroll/Commission employees.

2. Average typing skills with emphasis on accuracy. (Minimum 45 wpm)
3. Proficient with calculator.
