Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) designs, develops, and produces missile systems for critical requirements, including air-to-air, strike, surface Navy air defense, land combat missiles, guided projectiles, exoatmospheric kill vehicles, and directed energy weapons.
Scope: 390+ employee site representing most functional organizations including Operations, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Quality & Mission Effectiveness, Program Office, Human Resources & Learning, Finance, Business, Engineering, Security, Communications, etc. Current value of programs at Louisville is in excess of $400M per year in bookings and sales to $1B by 2012. Position reports to the Louisville General Manager as the deputy to the GM, and also represents RMS Tucson and Louisville site leadership to employees and bargaining unit.
Job Description: Responsible for providing team leadership, support and direction to a customer-focused group of teams committed to increased quality, productivity and product base at the Raytheon Missile Systems Louisville Facility. In this regard must be able to act independently and influence and implement administrative or operational issues affecting the site that impact near- and long-term facility success.
Lead and sponsor team activities and behaviors that support program and organization goals. Participates as part of the Leadership Team and facilitates team meetings in the General Managers absence. Identify and analyze problems, plans, tasks and solutions. Must be able to facilitate, and drive change initiatives. And support managers in developing and establishing site policies and procedures.
Monitor team budgets and ensure proper use of assets. Develops control systems and reports that accurately measure progress, identify potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken and ensures the meeting of company's contract commitments.
Implementing program and General Manager decisions that impact functional task elements such as: procurement, manufacturing, quality control, logistics and administrative functions. Lead multiple projects simultaneously ranging in scope from cultural initiatives to larger scale business drivers. Establish milestones and monitor adherence to program master plans and schedules.
Required Skills: · 12+ years of progressive experience in managing a large program or mid-sized facility or offsite. · Must be able to work across organizational lines and posses strong matrix management skills with demonstrated experience in building effective relationships. · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills capable of creating professional relationships with external and internal customers. Ability to articulate customer positions, status and strategies to senior management. · Strong influencing skills - Proven ability of developing and maintaining long-term business relationships with current and potential customers and partners. · Proven skills in project management and establishing a high degree of accountability. · Possess strong knowledge of functional organizations and dynamics. · Understands organizational dynamics and associated political environment in "Off site" setting. · Change leader, driven to excel. · Experience in parternering with Communications department with internal communication campaigns. · Partner with Louisville leadership team to implement effective people strategies and solutions. · Learn and support business and congressional networks internal and external to RMS and Raytheon to support business growth. · Pursue one-company business solutions · Must be able to integrate and build trust and reputation among and between Louisville leadership team and key RMS Tucson leaders. · Strong business acumen. · Role model for Raytheon's values of People, Integrity, Commitment, Excellence. · Dedicated to promoting the Raytheon Company identity and image in the local community.
