IT Developer - Web Front-End

Job Description:
Responsibilities
The Web Front-End Developer is a member of the Marketing and Design IT team within GE Consumer & Industrial.

Responsibilities include:
· Hand-code HTML, JavaScript and CSS to precisely reproduce Photoshop mockups provided by graphic designers.
· Assist in maintenance and creation of static content for large web sites.
· Create/code front-end templates for use by applications and their developers.
· Collaborate across the team with Program Managers, Project Managers, Graphic Designers, Site Architects and Copywriters.
· Analyze existing systems, identify areas for improvement, recommend technically sound solutions.
· Evaluate and remain current with new technologies and the benefits of those technologies.
· Evaluate and suggest areas within the current system where new technology can be implemented.

Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
· Minimum 4 years experience HAND-CODING HTML and CSS.
· Minimum 2 years experience writing or working with advanced JavaScript (DOM & DHTML).
· Minimum 2 years experience as client-side programmer developing complex web sites.
· Thorough knowledge of W3 standards and browser inconsistencies.
· Ability to optimize web pages for fast loading time and ease of maintenance.
