Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Performs some combination of the following duties:
· Works on assignments that are semi-routine and require the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice. Applies ASD procedures and exercises some judgment to complete tasks.
· Identifies sources of supplies, solicits and evaluates quotes from vendors, prepares purchase requisitions and purchase orders, and documents materials received in accordance with division policies and procedures.
· Maintains and reports expense account activity.
· Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments. Work is reviewed at the completion of tasks.
· Formats correspondence or create presentation materials and reports using proper spelling, punctuation and grammar.
· Explains processes to ASD employees. Is able to give step-by-step instructions.
· Occasionally performs administrative functions involving company private data where disclosure would likely have negligible effect.
· Interacts with vendors and peers in other work groups. May interact with employees at all levels within the division.
· Knows standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field.
· Performs general administrative tasks such as making copies, filing, record keeping, data entry, answering and screening telephone calls, taking and relaying messages, screening and distributing mail, etc.
· Makes travel arrangements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
· Work requires the level of general educational development normally acquired in high school.
· Three years of related experience is required to obtain a comprehensive knowledge of office procedures and systems.
· Requires successful completion of the intermediate course in two of the four Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. May require use of work group or department specific software.
· Moderate levels of communication skills are required to provide information on division and departmental policies and procedures where a clear precedent exists, gather information from a variety of sources, and resolve basic day-to-day problems.
· A minimal level of analytical ability is required to exercise judgment in completing tasks and to recognize deviation from accepted practice.
