Req Number 21723 Description Kelloggs has an exciting opportunity for a Safety Intern at our Louisville Bakery.The safety intern position exists to assist the Safety Manager in daily activities to help to provide and assure a safe working environment for all employees. This is accomplished through coordination and collaboration with the Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Scheduling and Administration Departments; and through the direction of the Safety Manager and Staff Operations. • Assist the Safety Manager in daily activities such as coordinating OSHA compliance training, maintaining OSHA Log, investigating incidents, and safety related program implementations. • Responsible for filing of safety related documents (e.g incident investigations, safety / steering committee records and postings, etc.), record keeping regarding training documents, manager safety contacts, STOP cards, powered vehicle checks, etc., coordinating and maintaining updated MSDS records, issuance and inventory for PPE and safety supplies, tracking the completion of safety work orders with follow up, and investigate solutions and problem solve safety issues using resources such as such as OSHA regulations, OSHA.gov, Safety & Health websites, etc. • This position will also attend daily production meetings and shadow the Safety Manager to provide the individual with experience and knowledge within the fields of safety and health and also production management. Position Requirements College student, preferably in a Safety & Health degreed program. Experience in a manufacturing facility preferred but not required. Strong leadership, team builder, motivator, ability to prioritize, decisiveness, communications, and administrative skills.
