CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER

Req Number 21348 Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Manager, located at our Louisville, Kentucky Bakery. The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead the continuous improvement effort to improve safety performance, product quality, unit cost, and employee performance, utilizing a participative team approach. Identifies process inefficiencies and coordinates/facilitates activities using cross-functional resources to eliminate them. • Coordinates trials with corporate representatives regarding new products, efficiency enhancements, and cost savings. Coordinates and communicates trial schedules with affected department heads and teams acting as a facilitator. • Works closely with line teams and the Food Safety Manager to develop action plans to address consumer complaints. • A member of the bakery HACCP Team and performs audits/inspections as required to ensure food safety. • Acts as a champion for safety and works closely with the Safety Manager and safety teams to eliminate accidents. • Tracks assigned variable labor accounts, ensuring that labor is being utilized efficiently, assigned to the proper account, and is within budget. • Assists in the annual budgeting process. • Supports team and team approach to solving problems. • Maintains positive and productive relations with the hourly workforce, union leadership, bakery management team, and corporate representatives. Acts as a technical resource to Operations Team Leaders. Performs Team Leader duties as required.

Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in business with 2 years supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment or a HS diploma/ GED with 5 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment required. Preferred candidate will have HACCP, inspection, and audit experience. Previous continuous improvement experience is preferred. The job requires excellent organization and planning skills, excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to prioritize workloads, lead cross-functional teams, and accomplish objectives through employees with whom they do not have a reporting relationship.
