Job Description:
Responsibilities
GE looks for innovation everywhere.
• The Buyer will support the internal customer of GE to ensure Projects are delivered on time and that new projects are costed in an appropriate manner.
• Negotiating cost-out of high value purchase items to ensure deflation of 10%.
• The Buyer will support Inquiry to Order (ITO) with supplier quotations for proper project budgeting.
• Ensuring timely delivery of supplier items.
• Ensuring the timely delivery of those items, which are deemed to be "Free Issue".
• Ensuring that suppliers are capable of meeting and adhere to Quality requirements.
• Input and maintain accurate Sourcing information within ERP (parts / financial tracking) system.
• Supplier invoice confirmation and sign-off.
• Indirect sourcing - overall responsibility to ensure that this is undertaken in the most productive and cost effective fashion and complies with sourcing guidelines.
• Negotiate Final Cost, Management of Project Cost vs. Budget.
• Order Delivery and Fulfillment Process, Expediting and Confirmation of the final delivery date.
• Order Placement for Sign Off and Communication to Project Managers.
• Free Issue Delivery and Management of GE Material.
• Fabrication Material Ordering including Metal, overseeing the placement of the GE Material base whilst identifying the lower price through the GE Approved Suppliers Process.
• Delivery to Planned Schedules and the reporting of any deviation.
• Capacity Mapping and Reporting to Operations / Sourcing Manager with Project Managers.
• Change Management Process.
• Coordinate Sourcing Quality Engineer (SQE) for FPQ Requests and feedback Corrective Actions to Fabricator.
• Assess penalty or LD's due to late Delivery or Poor Quality of Fabricated Units.
• Weekly, or daily as appropriate Communication to the Operations Sourcing Manager and relevant Project Managers.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years college coursework at an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years Sourcing experience.
Desired
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
• Highly motivated / pro-active mindset / able to accomplish goals and objectives with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read drawings and understand technical specification.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business.
• Six-sigma certification (GE employees only).
• Sourcing Management experience.
• Project Management experience.
• Technical knowledge of air inlet filtration and/or inlet chiller systems desirable.
