CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Customer Service Representative will be the primary contact between the client and their agent. This position is integral in bridging the communication gap between the client and their agent to ensure excellent customer service is provided to all parties. The nature of this position requires an obligation to maintain confidentiality.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

* Assist agent in cross selling of insurance products

* Provide superior customer service through consistent follow through on customer transactions and resolve clients concerns as needed in a professional manner and telephone etiquette

* Accept premium payments from clients and properly account for all monies received

* Perform office administrative functions

* Maintain and update records on clients

* Answer incoming telephone calls

* Assist walk-in clients

* Receives incoming mail and distributes/ processes outgoing mail

* Order and maintain supplies

 

SKILLS NEEDED:

 

* Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and listening

* People-oriented

* Self-motivated/Self-starter

* Organizational and multi-tasking abilities

* Exceptional customer service skills

* Ability to work in a team environment

* Ability to work independently, but also willing to assist others as needed

* Solid keyboarding and computer skills

* Work experience using MS Office Products

* Ability to prioritize work in a busy environment to complete work accurately and timely

* Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information

* Honest and ethical decision making

* Demonstrate positive and supportive attitude

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

 

* High School diploma or equivalent required. Combination of formal education, training and experience to acquire knowledge and skills generally equivalent to those possessed by a four-year college graduate preferred

* Required to obtain Property/Casualty Agents License within 6 weeks of hire

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

* General office experience with emphasis on attention to detail and problem solving

* Good public relations skills
