Director, Application Development - (27078)

Job Description:

The Director, Application Development provides senior technical leadership to the Applications Development team including conversant with the future direction of applications and how that direction will impact the company.

Additional responsibilites will include:
· Allocates application development resources to approved IT projects, customer requests for work, small enchancements, and Tier-2 production support. Participates in release planning.
· Directs the application development team in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, standards, best practices, training and career development.
· Consults with internal and external customers to clairfy application intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of programming required.
This position will manage a team of five to fifteen application developers, including some offshore resources. Responsbilities will include interviewing, hiring, overall directions, coordination, and evaluation of the assigned team.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
· Four to six years or greater related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Management and associate management experience required.
· A background in hands-on application development and/or the software development life cycle is required.
