Licensed Plumber (Service Technician)

Position Description Summary:
The basic function of the Service Technician -Plumber is to provide general plumbing/drain cleaning services. Handles service calls to customers in their homes and sells fixtures, accessory items and service agreements. Utilizes customer service training to educate and assist customers in choosing service, products and finance options. Responsible for some training of apprentice plumbers.

Position Qualifications:
The Service Technician must be goal oriented self-starting, and energetic. This individual must be willing to pursue and actually participate in continuing education.

This position requires the individual to be aware of and understand the company Mission Statement and to be able to give a general outline if asked by a customer or supervisor.

Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner.
Listed below is a representation of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities necessary to meet the minimum job requirements.
Service Technicians must be able to work weekends as required.

Education Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
A minimum of four years experience including hands on training and or plumbing work is required.

License / Certification:
Appropriate State Journeyman or Master Plumber license required.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be confident in his/her abilities. Must believe in him/her self and the company. Must believe in the company Mission Statement and the Service technician must reflect this belief. Must know local plumbing codes and be able to apply them in a practical manner for each job. Must be able to work with inspectors, suppliers and co-worker technicians to get the job done correctly an in the best interest of our customers, while abiding to all codes. Must be able to draw simple riser diagrams and be able to read them. Capable of plumbing techniques such as soldering, pipe threading, drain cleaning, fixture installation, gas leak testing and repair.
