Application Development Manager

Description:

This position will oversee a development team of approximately 6 individuals and the projects assigned to it. They will be involved with all phases of the application development lifecycle and primarily responsible for application design, construction, documentation, and support. Team members will consist of on-site and off-shore personnel. The development manager will coordinate activities with QA and support personnel, Technical Operations group, the Product Manager, and Business Analysts.

Responsibilities include:
· Lead team of developers in the delivery of high quality software solutions that meet business expectations for functionality and schedule
· Plan and manage execution of projects assigned to the team
· Establish and drive schedules and timelines
· Supervise and manage day-to-day activities for on-site development team
· Coordinate and assign activities and tasks of outsourcing partner
· Coordinate with QA manager for QA functions
· Coordinate with Product Manager and SMEs to translate functional requirements into technical requirements and specifications
· Coordinate deployment activities with Technical Operations group
· Maintain the project plan
· Review and approve deliverables and coding from outsourcing partner
· Brief project status
· Assign and manage Tier 3 support queue
· Determine and manage project resources
· Provide expertise and recommendations for technical solutions

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science is preferred
· 7-10 years of experience in information technology
· 5-7 years of experience in application development
· Microsoft .NET programming and C# experience are highly preferred
· Familiarity with ASP.NET
· Working knowledge of XML and Web Services is desirable
· Experience with Oracle as the backend database is a plus
· Demonstrated ability to execute a project plan, manages resources, identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
· Experience managing multiple operational priorities and/or projects
· Demonstrated leadership experience
· Ability to clarify scope of work commitments and deliverables, and define measurable success criteria to monitor progress toward goals
· Ability to define the scope of a project, develops an approach and project plan, secure resources, and coordinate the activities of a global team of people to achieve business objectives within a pre-determined timeframe
· Work collaboratively, actively listening to others to understand their perspective and ensure continuous understanding regardless of communication channel or audience
· Able to introduce or develop new ideas and processes which improve performance or productivity
· Excellent organization and time management skills
