Job Description
The Systems Administrator uses functional, technical and business skills to enable application delivery and support. With an understanding of the business and technology vision, the Systems Administrator combines that knowledge with system, application, database management, and the security models to provide a consistent, high-quality application experience. The Systems Administrator will maintain security models, monitor data integration, support the Usage Capture System, provide basis application assistance to user groups, and will communicate production performance statistics. In addition, the Systems Administrator will participate in application testing and instance management.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Partnering with Corporate Security to deliver application access and control application security metrics.
· Supporting both internal and external audits as they relate to application access and security controls.
· Providing technical guidance and leadership to colleagues and work groups in resolving systems and/or technical issues.
· Coordinating data extraction routines for applications.
· Monitoring application integration and performance of data movement activities.
· Coordinating and communicating with other IT staff to resolve technical issues ensuring the sufficient information is communicated and that effective mode of communication is selected.
· Coordinating activities of the project team and assisting in monitoring project schedules and costs. Taking action to stay on schedule and maintain costs.
· Acting as a source of direction, training, and guidance for less experienced staff.
· Gathering information and analyzing requirements, business processes, and information systems of a more complex nature. Developing and confirming project specifications and may provide assistance to less experienced personnel.
Basic Qualifications
· Required - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience
· Required - Minimum 4 years related technology experience
· Required - At least 4 years of related experience in a corporation of comparable size and complexity, including at least 2 years specialized experience in related field.
· Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines while providing a complete and accurate work product
· Demonstrated ability to think critically; to be flexible and adaptable while responding to the changing business environment and demands as well as anticipate and influence technology changes
· Demonstrated ability to draw upon theoretical knowledge and experience to perform non-routine tasks efficiently and effectively
· Ability to influence and suggest process improvements within a project team or organizational unit
· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all organizational levels, including presenting to project team and clients
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively within the organization and collaborate with technical and non-technical professionals and internal clients to understand business processes and determine requirements
· Ability to create, track, and manage a project plan and schedule from project initiation to project close out
· Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate business problems or technical issues and develop effective solutions for clients' needs. Ability to handle most issues independently
· Demonstrated ability to determine user requirements and ensure that system/process improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
· Ability to work with clients and their associated IT support teams to determine architecture requirements
· Ability to collaborate with IT personnel in order to reach consensus on architectural directions
