Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for an Application Services Director to join our team in Louisville, KY.
Job Responsibilities :
This role will be working onsite in Louisville, KY. The Director of Application Services directs managers and team leaders in a 60-person applications group, with local, off-site, and offshore resources. Provides coordination and communication between the organizational users of applications services and application support resources. Assists the user community with strategic planning for future systems and the ongoing optimization of existing systems.
Responsible for general oversight of all applications activities; either ongoing or planned within the organization. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with management and staff at all levels within the organization, vendors providing services, and physician communities.
Required Skills:
• Minimum of 8 years of technical, professional, and/or managerial experience with increasing responsibilities, preferably in a hospital based environment
• Must possess experience with and a general knowledge of healthcare operations and computer systems used in healthcare operations
• Must possess experience and be able to demonstrate ability to effectively build relationships with site leadership and healthcare providers
• Must have experience in clinical, financial, and business applications utilized in an acute care facility
• Excellent written and verbal skills
Desired Skills:
• Effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Knowledge of information systems equipment, technologies, terminology, methods, and procedures
• Knowledge of information system analysis, design and data management concepts
• Knowledge of current trends, technological changes and developments in healthcare information systems
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of staff, both direct report and dotted line
• Ability to write general and technical reports, as well as project charters
• Ability to write documentation according to established standards
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and set priorities for self and staff
• Skills in using desktop computers and associated software products such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, and Outlook
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of budgeting as it relates to IT services and management
• Knowledge of PMI / project management methodology
• Ability to perform tasks within established time constraints
• Effective oral and written presentations
Minimum Educational Requirements:
• BS or similar in computer sciences
• MBA or similar
