SQL Server Developer

Description: Responsibilities include:
· Act in a hands-on role to implement the data architecture and transformation plan using DB2 and SQL Server
· Understand and document the logical and physical data models for a single domain
· Proactively identify data issues and provide recommendations for resolution to the Data Architect
· Assist Data Architect in mapping of entities, fields and relationships across multiple data models
· With the help of Data Architect develop definitions of translations between the different models to enable integration
· Assist Data Architect in applying best practices in defining models, translations and mapping
· Ensure best practices are applied and integrity of the data artifacts are maintained by documenting and maintaining change management

Requirements:
The SQL Developer will typically have 3 to 5 years of experience and will work collaboratively with the Data Architect. Candidates must have:
· Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL Server ETL tools including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Visual Studio
· Good database administration skills with DB2 and SQL Server
· Experience with database scripting and programming to guide construction of stored procedures, triggers, etc.
· Knowledge related to metadata management, data modeling, data model rationalization and database products.
· Experience with data modeling fundamentals including E/R modeling, constraint design, and attribute definition using appropriate techniques and tools (e.g. relational, dimensional, ER Studio)
· Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills and negotiation skills
· Previous experience in the Insurance industry preferred, but not required
· Working knowledge of Java/J2EE preferred , but not required
