Job Description:

The Director, Business Performance is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting a Regional Profit Center's (RPC) business performance defined by Vice President, Business Strategy. This position will involve partnering with Regional Sales Vice Presidents and other groups on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the operating assumptions of the RPC manifests into the expected financial results. This position will also support entry into new markets, perform competitive analysis, and optimize the current business strategy within the existing markets.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Developing and analyzing the Regional Profit Center business metrics.
• Monitoring and reporting the financial results of the RPC in accordance with the metrics set by the RVP, Sales, and the VP, Business Strategy.
• Analyzing and administrating the quarterly sales commission reporting.
• Assisting in pricing meetings and cost models to make sure strategies are being followed.
• Working with Gas Operations in determining cost to serve a particular market.
• Bridging the gap between operational numbers and accounting numbers.
• Analyzing and tracking supply costs and balancing errors that erode gross margin.
• Performing competitive analysis and market share analysis and present findings and recommendations to the RVP,Sales and VP, Business Strategy for purpose setting margin goals.
• Working and partnering with RVP, Sales in assisting with goals and efforts to provide maximum value to the regional offices.
• Acting as the primary liaison of the RPC to other functional reporting groups including Operational Accounting, FP&A, and Supply.
• Participating in any Acquisition and Integration activities deemed appropriate by Sr. Management.

Basic Qualifications
Skills Required:

• Required - Bachelor's Degree in business related field of study or 7 - 10 years of experience in the retail energy market
• Preferred - MBA or advanced degree in related business field
• Preferred - 5 years of experience in retail natural gas operational accounting or finance
• Advanced understand of gross margin in the natural gas business
• In depth knowledge of the energy industry
• Proficient knowledge of sales, operations, and related business practices
• Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and the Internet
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills to function in a team environment and to maintain rapport with employees and customers
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and independent decision-making
• Flexibility on the job and the ability to work under multiple, daily deadlines
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and e-mails
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, colleagues, and customers
• Ability to manage several different tasks simultaneously
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information at all times
• Ability to manage employees and maintain team rapport
• Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work under daily deadlines in a high pressure environment.
• Travel as required by CNEG customers' and businesses' needs.
