Repair Technician (CIA) 2nd Shift

REPAIR TECHNICIAN CIA

 

Responsibilities

To provide customer assistance regarding repairs, upgrades, installation and operation of product, performs basic functionality testing on units, as well as diagnosing, conducting minor repairs and cleaning.

 


Description

Customer Service and Administrative

• Assists customers with service/repair issues, discusses product with customers to determine product problems and service requirements. Answers questions regarding product installation and operation.

• Correctly and fully completes repari tags for all product lines, verifies proper paperwork (receipt, PSP), and documents items included with unit.

• Offers estimate of work to be done if applicable.

• Contacts customers regarding status of repair; solicits additional information if needed, and provides work estimates. Contacts customers when item is repaired.

• Educates customer to prevent similar problems, if applicable.

Technical

• Software installs and trouble shooting.

• Routine functionality testing (all product lines).

• Basic cleanings (all product lines), Basic part installs.

Supervised on the job training

• Must pass Best Buy Certification test within 90 days of hire or promotion to position. Preparation for A+ Certification.

• Learns more advanced repairs under supervision of lead or qualified technician if applicable.

 


Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 year Associates Degree preferred
  • Certified Electronics Technician or 2 yr Electronics Degree
  • 1-2 years prior experience diagnosing and repairing PCs
