JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of production and the supervision of personnel in the Auto section of Underwriting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Plan and schedule the work production for the Auto Processing.
• Monitor status of work on a continual basis.
• Monitor the quantity and quality of completed transactions for Auto Processing.
• Responsible for preparing and reviewing management reports.
• Communicate with other departments in an effort to develop procedures, which are compatible with the total operation.
• Responsible for various personnel administration duties.
• Keeps the Policy Services, Manager, informed of conditions and changes that affect the Auto Processing Department.
• In an advisory role, assist the Processing Department on special project committees.
• Responsible for implementing and monitoring new procedures and automated systems.
• Assist in the developing consistent procedures between Auto and Allines Departments.
• Assist in the development of Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
• Responsible for the achievement of established department goals.
• Regular, predictable attendance.

• Make recommendations concerning replacement of personnel, employee terminations, and salary reviews.
• Write job performance appraisals and other personnel documentation.
• Conduct performance appraisal reviews and handles daily personnel problems.
• Write job descriptions.
• Plan vacation schedules for personnel.
• Assist in establishing staffing requirements.
• See that personnel are cross-trained.
• Assign duties and establish work schedules for the various jobs.
• Make recommendations regarding new and additional equipment needs.
• Attends committee meetings.
• Counsel Auto Processing personnel with problems affecting the workflow.
• Keep Company and Procedure manuals updated.
• Provide pro-rating and system information to the Underwriting Department.
• In an advisory role, assist Information Systems in designing and testing automated systems related to Auto Processing
• Write an annual progress report for the Auto Processing Department.
• Submit an annual report to the Director of Processing Department.
• Attends weekly department meetings.
• Conduct regular meetings with personnel in the Auto Processing Department.
• Meet with other department supervisors and managers to solve inter-departmental production problems.
• Represent the company in outside business functions and attends educational seminars.
• Train personnel on new procedures and special projects.
• Research any problems that develop from the implementation of new automated systems and procedures.
• Submit Project Requests as the need arises to improve the Auto Policy Processing
Systems.
• Perform quarterly error checks on all Auto Policy Processors

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Knowledge of Auto Policy Processing Systems and Management Reporting Systems helpful.
• General knowledge of property and casualty insurance helpful.
• Knowledge of Company's cash and accounting systems desired.
• General knowledge of Information Systems helpful.
• Knowledge of Company's underwriting requirements and procedures desired.
• Knowledge of Windows-based applications required.
• Good leadership and human relations skills.
• Able to comprehend new procedures quickly.
• Good organizational and decision making abilities.
• Good communication skills (written, oral and listening).
• Ability to analyze and solve problems for agency offices, interoffice personnel, and insureds on all lines of insurance.
• Bachelor Degree preferred. However, applicants with a combination of formal education, training and experience equivalent to a person with a bachelor degree will be considered.
