Primary Responsibilities Include: · Managing a team of Underwriters and Production staff to effectively support the fulfillment needs of an assigned sales team. · Working in partnership with assigned sales team to drive quality-focused volume. · Leveraging available support systems and technology to proactively manage pipeline and loan-level needs. · Promoting environment of sound industry practices and leadership in quality practices. · Working in collaboration with Underwriting Managers and/or other division management to achieve and maintain compliance with credit risk policies and procedures · Working with Underwriting Managers to provide appropriate and timely underwriting training. · Ensuring staff maintains the highest level of product knowledge and underwriting standards. · Achieving and sustaining an environment of proactive and consistent service delivery in line with external and internal customer expectations. · Ensuring that the team is effectively supporting their Account Executives (AEs) and Business Partners (BPs) · Effectively resolves all complaints from AEs and BPs related to department & personnel. · Managing team in compliance with targeted productivity and operational efficiency metrics. · Supporting reporting and proactive management of turn-times. · Administering a deliberate and comprehensive practice for attracting, developing and retaining talent that meets current and future organizational needs · Attracting, hiring and developing staff while focusing on maximizing performance and talent retention. · Providing timely, consistent and constructive performance feedback to direct reports. · Administering performance management and/or disciplinary action in a proactive manner and ensures compliance with company and division policies. · Encouraging active learning and development throughout organization. · Delivers thoughtful performance evaluations, with appropriate focus on performance against goals, behavioral norms, and developmental opportunities. · Providing regular reports on performance of the POD relative to AE & BP support and quality of operations of department.
A Successful Candidate Will Have: · Bachelor degree or equivalent · 5+ years - Functional · Superior and effective communication skills with sensitivity to sales and BP related issues · Excellent management and negotiation skills · Management experience to include motivating staff to perform; coaching, counseling, developing and disciplining employees · Excellent planning and organization skills, especially in prioritizing workloads · Extensive knowledge of mortgage lending practices, policies and procedures · Knowledge of mortgage lending laws · Ability to keep information secure and confidential · Ability to successfully manage staff and workloads within a high volume environment · Advanced skills in call management, service delivery, and pipeline management are required · Knowledge of mortgage loan products · PC proficiency
