Software Engineer



As a new addition to our Production Software Development Team, you are responsible for "thinking outside the box" to create, maintain and improve our most critical applications, ensuring our production capabilities are scalable and continuing to meet our production requirements.

Utilizing a combination of various web applications, windows desktop applications, windows services, printing hardware and technologies, you are responsible for defining, building, and testing highly interactive, Production Operator-focused workflow experiences. This includes taking the vision of operator interaction, user interface, and visual design and making that a reality for the Production Floor. This position will work closely with the Operations and Production Management teams to ensure that they are building systems that integrate seamlessly into the existing technology as well as future production innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop Production Workflow tools and Reports
  • Support and maintain existing Production System
  • Support and maintain existing Production System
  • Support and maintain existing Production System
  • Collaborate closely with other Operations Developers in defining functional specs, requirements and future goals
  • Troubleshoot production software/hardware issues
  • Analyze and formulate future workflow software designs for greater efficiency and productivity

    Skills and Experience:

  • Expert hands-on knowledge of C# and ASP.NET 2.0 is a necessity (.Net 3.0 or 3.5 is a distinct plus)
  • Strong Web Services, Ajax, HTML, XSLT, ASP.net, MS Visual Studio 2005 and XML as well as other web development/production tools required
  • MySQL experience will give you a definite advantage
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and ImageReady a plus

    Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years in software development and/or engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • B.S./B.A. degree in an appropriate technology or business related
  • Demonstrated development success in a customer-facing environment
  • Demonstrated interest in the customer experience and front-end engineering with understanding of user research, metrics and basic software processes
  • Experience improving existing systems and providing great experiences for end-users are keys to success for this role
  • Must possess strong collaboration and influencing skills
  • Excellent grammatical skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, is key to success in this position as well as creativity and strong attention to detail
  • Candidate must have a demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively under pressure and balance speed and quality
