PURPOSE:
The Materials Planner will be a member of the Materials team. As an individual contributor, this person will work closely with members of the group to assist with the planning process. Materials Planner will plan, forecast and schedule material requirements to maximize customer service level, inventory productivity objectives and contractual obligations. This position will report directly to the Production Planning Manager.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Develop weekly plans & schedules to meet service, inventory and cost objectives.
· Provides close support with the inventory forecast and planning.
· Works closely with customer and product teams to develop cohesive material plans that meet or exceed service targets, maximize production efficiencies, while following to the companies inventory plan for the product lines.
· Update/modify plans & schedules as appropriate/optimal in a job shop environment.
· Work along side of planning and procurement to identify supply surges and immediate receipts.
· Facilitate and manage daily planning and scheduling meetings.
· Ensure daily output tied to metrics/ production & inventory plan.
· Maintain work orders to target levels to minimize costs.
· Participates in the CPI initiatives
· Attends daily backlog meetings
· Provides support with the point of production analysis and maintenance
· Develops daily and weekly production plans to meet service, inventory and cost objectives.
Requirements
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· BS in Business/ Supply Chain/ Operations/ Logistics or related field
· 3 years experience in Production Planning & Inventory control
· Experience preferred in complex Supply Chain or distribution environment.
SKILLS:
Analytical APICS/CPIM or ISM CPM/APP Certification a plus
MRP experience preferred
Technical acumen (service, inventory, cost management)
Attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Office
Experience with the forecasting software applications
Xelus experience preferred
