UNIX/SAN Systems Administrator - Louisville, KY-LOU000CC

As a UNIX/SAN Systems Administrator you will be primarily responsible for SAN (basically EMC storage units) and UNIX administration.

Specific responsibilities:
· Install, maintain and support HP-UX, Solaris and Linux-based systems.
· SAN administration includes switch zoning and storage provisioning to the servers.
· Knowledge on Shell and Perl Scripting.
· Perform problem determination and resolution.
· Perform operating system upgrades, capacity planning, and performance analysis as it relates to day-to-day operations.
· Analyze and modify system parameters as necessary to configure the O/S and subsystem components.
· Actively troubleshoot all system errors and failures.
· Work with vendors to achieve defect resolution.
· Apply changes in accordance with change management policies and procedures.
· Develop and implement test plans to verify installation, upgrades or repairs, including back-out plans.
· Implement O/S patches as required.
· Perform problem/change ticket reporting and time tracking duties.
· Provide assistance to other team members with hardware and OS upgrades, configuration changes, and maintenance.
· Participate in projects by providing technical expertise.
· Escalate critical problems that will impact service delivery standards to management.
· Record metrics and provide management reports as directed.
· Research and recommend technologies needed to support and grow our business.

Qualifications
· BS in Computer Science, equivalent training, or equivalent work experience.
· 5+ years experience providing data center services in an enterprise wide environment. Specific qualifications will include experience in:
· Installation, maintenance and general support of HP, SUN, AMD and Intel based systems and related software.
· O/S security (rights, privileges, accounts) and hardening (upgrades, patches) techniques.
· Remote access/management techniques (SSH, remote console).
· Volume Management.
· SAN and NAS technology basically EMC storage units.
· Business continuity technologies and practices.
· Experience with Solaris, HP/UX, and/or Linux.
· Knowledge on VMWARE ESX servers.
· Certifications a plus.
· Ability to multi-task in a highly technical, fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work independently.
· Ready to take 24x7 on-call rotation
