JOB SUMMARY

Proficiently manages all processes within the entire project lifecycle (initiate, plan, execute, monitor & control, close), whether leading an independent project or a project that is part of a program. Oversees complex, strategic, high priority projects, which often require considerable resources and significant functional integration. Determines the appropriate level of rigor in applying standard methods and tools for managing a given project. Produces desired results by using appropriate techniques in all project management activities. Steps into projects already in progress, and possibly at risk. Manages programs, with increased emphasis on vendor/procurement management, dependency management and stakeholder management. Serves as a corporate change agent, engaging project teams and stakeholder groups using a non-confrontational, collaborative, consensus-driven approach.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required or expected within 1 year of hire/promotion.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 6 years experience applying project management principles in a Project Management leadership capacity for projects with the following characteristics:
• $500k - $5M project budget.
• 10 - 20 team members.
• Durations of 6 - 17 months.
• Strategic, high priority.
• Considerable complexity.
• 5 to 8 project lifecycles completed successfully (initiation through close).

Required competency levels:
• Proficient in development of Project Management practices, processes, and methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Program Management practices, processes, and methodologies.
• Competent in 1 other area or working knowledge of 2 other areas of processes and associated methodologies required e.g. System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Ability to audit/assess at-risk projects and recommend recovery strategies.
• Conceptual knowledge of business case development.
• Conceptual knowledge of Return on Investment (ROI) analysis.
• Proficient in MS-Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred competency levels:
• Competent in the application of Program Management practices, processes, methodologies.
• Working knowledge of business case development.
